Civil Disputes & Litigation

Most conflicts don’t need a courtroom—and most people don’t want one. When disputes arise, the right legal guidance can make all the difference in finding a path forward without unnecessary escalation.

My approach to civil litigation is grounded in clarity, empathy, and professionalism. I work to resolve disputes through negotiation and dialogue whenever possible. But when diplomacy fails—or the other side refuses to act in good faith—I’m fully prepared to litigate with precision, purpose, and strength.

A Conflict-Avoidant Practice by Design

I believe most conflicts can be resolved without judicial oversight. That means no courtroom, no drawn-out litigation, and no scorched-earth tactics—just practical problem-solving, grounded in law and compassion.

When representing clients, I stay focused on resolution: whether through a well-crafted letter, a negotiated agreement, or targeted pre-litigation positioning. As your lawyer, I aim to de-escalate where possible and protect your peace—because that’s often the best outcome.

That said, if the other party chooses to be unreasonable, delay resolution, or ignore the law, I’ll respond accordingly. I don’t bluff. I prepare. And I pursue what’s right with the full weight of the law behind us.

Areas of Focus

I assist clients across a range of Washington civil matters, with particular focus on:

  • Contract disputes and enforcement

  • Declaratory judgment actions (including property and animal ownership)

  • Possession claims or personal property conflicts

  • Defamation and tortious interference

  • Quiet title and property-related litigation

  • Disputes arising out of estate administration

  • Intra-family or closely held business conflicts

I’m especially attuned to disputes that don’t fit neatly into one category—cases involving relationships, shared responsibilities, or gray areas in ownership or intent. In these matters, tact and strategic planning are often more valuable than raw aggression.

What I Don’t Handle

To maintain a focused and effective practice, I do not represent:

  • Landlords in residential landlord-tenant disputes

  • Clients in employment law or wrongful termination cases

  • Parties in personal injury, immigration, or criminal matters

If your case falls outside my scope, I’ll tell you early and, when possible, refer you to someone who can help.
